Highlights for November 2026

  • Sun, Nov 1Birth of Sayyida Fāṭima al-Zahrāʾ (a)The birth of Fāṭima al-Zahrāʾ (a) in Makkah: daughter of the Prophet ﷺ and Khadīja (a), wife of Imam ʿAlī (a), and mother of al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn (a). The Prophet called her the foremost of the women of the worlds, and a part of himself. The day is widely kept as a day honouring mothers.
  • Sat, Nov 14Martyrdom of Sayyida Fāṭima al-Zahrāʾ (a)The narration placing the death of the Prophet's daughter ninety-five days after his passing, and the more widely observed of the two dates. She was the only one of his children to survive him, and did so by a matter of months. At her request she was buried at night and her grave left unmarked, so that its location is unknown to this day.
  • Sun, Nov 22When the Ordinary Becomes Extraordinary: An Afternoon of Creativity, Gratitude & Reflection
  • Tue, Nov 24Passing of Sayyida Umm al-Banīn (a)The death of the wife of Imam ʿAlī (a) and mother of al-ʿAbbās (a). She asked not to be called by her given name, Fāṭima, out of deference to al-Zahrāʾ (a), and raised her four sons in devotion to al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn (a) — all four were killed at Karbalāʾ. She is remembered for going out to al-Baqīʿ to mourn them, and by the mothers who have turned to her since.
